Leaving the vehicles in one of the car parks outside the village, we set off on a wide, steady uphill white road to get to the old castle of Vignoni, a village nestled in the 11th century. Continuing on a very easy ridge you can admire the beautiful landscapes for which the Valdorcia is rightly famous. Arrived in Ripa d'Orcia if we are lucky and we can find a way to enter, we can admire the beautiful castle renovated in the twentieth century with its park and the terrace overlooking the Gorges dell'Orcia. Go back and take the CAI path on the right, we quickly descend more than two hundred meters into a stony path, to get right on the bank of the river. There are pleasant beaches near the overflow of the river, they deserve a break. Resumed the journey continue uphill, about another 250 meters in altitude to reach Rocca d'Orcia. A country and a powerful fortress to admire, the second also to climb up to the top to admire an unforgettable view in every season.
There is a good restauran at the foot of Rocca di Tentennano, Il Cerchio delle Streghe.

Resumed the path we head, after a short stretch of asphalt to a path that leads us back to the fields near Bagno Vignoni.
Just before entering Bagno Vignoni, we turn left for a short detour to admire the newly built pedestrian bridg. The impressive arched wooden bridge has been built on top of the old foundations. There used to be a Roman bridge over the Orcia, but a flood has washed it away.
