View on Sant'Angelo in Colle, hamlet of Montalcino

Sant'Angelo in Colle is a small medieval village, perched on a hill about 8 km from Montalcino. The Via del Sole leads to the heart of the small village. The views around the main piazza on the Val d’Orcia and Monte Amiata, are extremely beautiful, especially around sunset. Trattoria Il Leccio and Il Pozzo are rated as two of the top restaurants in the Montalcino area. They have a good selection of wine and a nice atmosphere.

The wine is naturally all from withing a few miles away.

Tenuta Collemattoni, Sant’Angelo in Colle, Montalcinoi

Collemattoni takes its name from the farmhouse, which has become the winery's trademark over the years. The farm, which dates back to 1672, is located on a hilltop a short distance from the village of Sant'Angelo in Colle.
The estate is run by Marcello Bucci with the support of his entire family. The total area for vineyards is about 11 hectares, located in five different locations with different altitudes and soils, all in the southwest and southeast of the town of Montalcino. In one of the vineyards lies and old alabaster quarry. This is where the rock used to build the Abbey of Sant'Antimo was quarried
