As the sun rose higher in the sky, the volume of the pool was assuming a definite form, they were carefully fitting out the height, measuring the size of the pool.
And later, the rhythmic thumping of the concrete pump echoed through the air as it poured its liquid cargo onto the barren ground. The men in their hard hats and heavy boots scurried around like elegant dancers, feverishly smoothing and leveling the thick grey mass.
The air was heavy with the scent of freshly poured concrete and the hum of activity. There was a sense of purpose and momentum, as if nothing could stop this force of progress.
As the concrete spread and solidified, the first floor slab of the Santa Pia swimming pool began to take shape.

The pool, an oasis in this Tuscan heaven, was beginning to come to life

And yet, for all the noise and motion, there was a certain stillness in the air. A quietude that belied the frenzy of construction. It was as if the very act of creation required a certain hush, a respectful nod to the forces at play.
